Changelog
Everything that changed in Mizan, newest first.
Dates are when the change went live on your server. Nothing here needs action from you unless it says so.
25 July 2026
Added
- Documentation at mizan.gg/docs, including this changelog.
Improved
- Raid detection got more accurate for servers of every size. Fewer alerts you did not need, and real trouble caught sooner. Nothing to configure.
- More of the tricks used to make an attack look like ordinary traffic are now caught.
24 July 2026
Added
- Kick, temporary ban, and ban are now selectable honeypot actions in the dashboard. Kick if you want to see who comes back; temporary ban to stop someone now without banning them for good.
- Every option in a settings dropdown now says what it does, so you can pick one without guessing from a single word.
Fixed
- Discord's own system messages no longer trip the honeypot. Join notices, pinned-message notices, and boost announcements landing in a honeypot channel were read as real posts, so a member could be caught for nothing more than joining. Only a post written by a member counts now.
- The trend lines under "Actions taken" and "Raids stopped" on the overview were drawn from message volume rather than real enforcement, so a quiet server still saw a confident-looking curve. They now show what actually happened, and a flat line means nothing happened.
Improved
- Member DMs pause while a raid is active. The pause lifts on its own, and you can turn the behaviour off.
- A rule left in dry run now reports every hit it would have acted on, in your logs and in the dashboard counters, so you can judge a rule before you let it enforce.
23 July 2026
Added
- A Default rules section on the rules page. Mizan's built-in protections, including mention spam and message rate, can now be turned off, retuned, put in dry run, or reverted to the shipped setting, per server.
Improved
- A burst of removed messages now arrives as one log entry listing each message with its author and what it said, instead of dozens of cards with no content.
21 July 2026
Improved
- Whitelist and blacklist management is one command each now, covering members, roles, words, and domains, and the results read as a clean list rather than a wall of chips.
- Command names are consistent, so there is one name per action.
20 July 2026
Fixed
- The most serious catches now open a case for review on their own, and the case link in your log opens that case instead of a page that did not exist.
Improved
- A visual pass across the dashboard: clearer hierarchy, calmer surfaces, and settings pages that fit more on screen without feeling cramped.
18 July 2026
Fixed
- Ordinary Steam links no longer draw a warning.
17 July 2026
Added
- Honeypot catch statistics on the dashboard, so you can see what the trap channel is actually stopping.
Improved
- The dashboard opens and moves between pages far faster, with far less waiting after a click.
14 July 2026
Fixed
- Turning on message logging could fill your log channel with an entry for every message posted. That no longer happens: logging covers what changed, not what was said.
Improved
- Log entries and member notices read in plain language, and a bulk purge is now attributed to the moderator who ran it.
12 July 2026
Added
- The website and dashboard are available in Spanish, and Mizan's Discord messages follow the language your server is set to.
11 July 2026
Added
- Your own rules, written and edited from the dashboard, alongside the built-in protections.
- Rules can act on the channel and not only on the message. A rule can raise slowmode for a set time and hand the channel back afterwards, and dry run shows you what it would have done first.
9 July 2026
Added
- An analytics page and a live activity stream, so you can see what Mizan is doing over time instead of only the last thing it did.
- A member profile with that member's full history in one place, reachable from any case or log entry.
5 July 2026
Added
- Automatic slowmode, off until you turn it on. When a channel gets busy, Mizan raises slowmode and puts your own setting back once it settles. A moderator who changes slowmode by hand always wins.
- Case detail now shows the evidence behind a decision and highlights what was flagged, so a moderator can judge a case without reconstructing it.
Improved
- While a raid is under way, server invites pause, and the pause lifts on its own. Permanent invites are never deleted.
2 July 2026
Improved
- Coverage of abusive language got broader, and raid containment is more reliable end to end.
- Logs and member notices name the reason in plain words instead of an internal code.
30 June 2026
Added
- Coverage for sexual content, so explicit material is removed and logged like anything else Mizan acts on.
29 June 2026
Improved
- Identity-based abuse is caught across many languages.
28 June 2026
Added
- A web dashboard for your server's settings, so configuration lives on a page instead of in a chat command.
- Protection against personal information posted in chat, so an address or a phone number is removed before it spreads.
- Protection against scam and phishing links.
- Protection against known harmful images.
/standing, so a member can check their own record without asking a moderator.
Fixed
- A saved log channel could be dropped, which sent your logs nowhere. Channel and role choices now save and stay saved.
- The member whose message was removed now gets told. Some removals used to notify nobody.
Improved
- Log entries and member notices were rewritten: the message that caused the action, names rendered properly, nobody pinged, and a link straight to where it happened.
27 June 2026
Added
- Mizan's first release: automatic moderation of harmful chat content, raid protection, protection against a compromised or malicious moderator making sweeping changes, and a mod log with a daily digest.
